2011 Windsor Harvest Festival
Home and Garden Fair
The Windsor Harvest Festival Home and Garden Fair will be sponsored this year by the Harvest Festival Committee . It will be held during Labor Day weekend, September 3 , 4 , and 5 , at Tozer Elementary, 501 Oak St .
Entries will be accepted September 4 , between 9:00 a.m. and 1:00 p.m. Participants may enter only one item per Lot in a Class. No “display only” items will be accepted. Some categories may be combined in the final judging.
The fair will be open to the public from 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sunday September 4th , and 11:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Monday September 5th . All entries must be picked up by 4:45 on Monday the 6th . Anyone needing information may call Alison Ikenouye, 310-1078, or Deb Harper, 686-5037 .
General Rules and Exhibit Regulations
1) All entries must have been made during the past year and must be entered in the name of the person who made them.
2) All exhibits are classed open.
3) All entries must be entered by 1:00 p.m. Saturday , September 3, to be judged.
4) Any entries that are not picked up by 4:45 p.m. on Monday September 5 will be discarded.
5) Exhibits in the Vegetables/Flowers Section must have been grown by the exhibitor on their farm or in their garden. Misrepresented produce can be disqualified. Everyone exhibiting flowers must provide their own container for display.
6) Exhibits in the Canning Classes must be exhibited in standard brand name jars and matching lids , and canned since the 200 8 fair by the person in whose name they are entered. Each jar must be labeled with the following information: product, date canned, method of processing including how long and altitude. Open kettle processing is not acceptable. All vegetables, except tomatoes must be pressure canned. Do not write exhibitors name on the label. All entries must be canned under USDA recommendations .
7) All paintings and drawings entered in the Arts classes must be mounted and the exhibitor must provide their own easel for display .
8) Entries deemed unworthy shall not be awarded any ribbon. There will be a first, second, and third place ribbon awarded at the judges discretion.
9) Additional lots may be established at the discretion of the committee and or judges.
